Its been a while.

Well I have not been on here in a long time, so much for the journal keeping and the super private blogger I was going to be. There has been a whole lot that has happened since the last time I wrote.  I still don't pray enough, life is not any easier, national debt has gone up and so has mine.  I just found out the I am going to be a second time father, but it is not public knowledge yet.  I am so excited yet I am worried that I wont love it is much as I love my little girl now.  I am afraid that I will not be able to spoil the new kid like I like to spoil K.  The fire dept is good for me but not to me.  I current board has a couple of jack asses on it that want to cause turmoil.  We went to a fire today at a rent house, it was a oven fire.  I make initial attack entry with a water extinguisher. I opened the oven door put out the fire then watched the roaches run out of the oven and the stove and the walls.  There were thousands of them.  This is not uncommon, Low income housing.  I left the house and was in the yard taking off my turnout's when I saw the mayor pull up,  it was his rent house.  I thought " what a jack ass, he expects people to keep their properties up to code but he does not have to".  Well I have nothing else to say and I want to go to bed so I am out.  I might holla at ya later.  PEACE

My First Time

This is my first blog if yu havent figured it out by the title.  I decided to do a blog mainly out of boardum.  I was sitting at the fire station one Sunday and thought "I will try it".  I thought I could use it as a journal of my thoughts.  Not really for anyone to read but if they do, good they can get an idea of what is in my head.   My mind works alot diffrent from most people, so I have been told.  I know I think diffrent from anybody else but so do you .  Alot of my thoughts are often morbid, off key, shady, dark, random how ever you want to say but I find them most of the time to be comical.
I have a good relationship with God.  I would like for it to be great but I am hard headed when it comes to prayer.  I hate to say it but I dont do it enough.  I was raised in a christan (southern Baptist) home my whole life.  I dont have a Super exciting story on how I was saved, but I will tell it.  I was "Saved " when I was in elementry school.  The reason it is in quotations is because I was not really saved I was just baptized.  I was not really saved untill I was 21.  The reson I baptized when I was young is sad but comical.  In the church I was raised in it was kind of pushed upon you to be "saved" around 4th,5th, or 6th grade (I cant remember).  So one winter day I decided to go talk to the preacher to tell he I wanted to be baptized.  By doing this I accomplished two things I fot the pressure of being "saved" off my back and most important I got to go swimming in the baptistry.
I was not a bad kid growing up and I did belive in God.  I also knew that he died for me and I was going to heaven, but I did not feel like I was and I did not ack like I was.  When I was really saved was when I was 21.  One day my friend and I went out riding street bikes ( crotch rockets).  We started about 9:00 and rode all over North-MS acting like fools but having a good time.  We decided to try all the stunts we saw on a show so we were riding on the windshield doing wheelies and stoppies, skiing off the back and side of the bikes.  (pretty stupid looking back).  It was getting close to 2:00pm and we were supposed to go to a friends birthday party that started around 6 or 7, so we decided to go to Oxford, Ms down a backroad.  On the way to Oxford we reached speeds of more than 100mph (alot more)  on the way back we decided to take it easy so we never went over 120.  Right before we got to the main road going home I wrecked in a curve.  I was doing 100mph when I went into the curve and I know I was slowing down, but I was still going too fast.  I thought I could ride the bike off the road into someones yard and I would be fine and I would have been if I didnt panic when I saw the 6 ft drop.  I did panic and locked up both breaks but I locked the front break first and it slung me off the bike. I don't remember hitting the ground but I do remember sliding across it.  I was sliding so fast I could not stop and as I was sliding I saw a tree go by my face.  Once I got stopped I looked to find my bike...It was gone ....Wait there it is 6ft up wraped around a tree.  Once I got my self back I took off my helmet and looked at it and I was missing my face mask.  Remember the tree I saw when I was sliding?  It was stuck in it.   That was the day I was truly saved.
It always takes big moments grom God to kick me in the but to remind me I am a DA.  I recently lost a great friend in a hunting accident and sadly but greatfully it has brought me closer to God.  I now know That I am going to heaven to sit in the lap of my God and I am thankful for everything he has given me but I am more thankful for the challenges he has put in front of me.  It makes me a better person and a better christian.
